In May 2002, it has been over 40 years since the famous Hollywood movie "Lawrence of Arabia" was filmed in Jordan. On the anniversary of his film, travellers from all over the world were following the footsteps of T.E. Lawrence. The first "Lawrence Festival " was such a great success that it has become an annual event under the patronage of HRH Princess Muna Al Hussein, King Abdullah's Mother.
During World War I "Lawrence
of Arabia" and his army were attacked on the Hejaz Train which you can
experience an unforgettable adventure through the town on the Steam Train.
You are invited
to celebrate the tradition of the Bedouin Party and bet on a camel
at the Camel Race in the picturesque landscape of Wadi Rum where "Lawrence
of Arabia'" prepared to attack for Aqaba Castle. At this unique spot
you can enjoy the highlight of the "Lawrence Soiree" were
stars from the Prague Opera will perform music from the period of Lawrence's
time followed by a romantic candle lit Gala Dinner in the environment
of Arabian Nights.
